Rotary Club Poona Mid Town is celebrating Golden Jubilee year 2019-20 and elaborate plans have been made to undertake various activities to commemorate this land mark. One of the aim is to undertake Mega Medical Project to establish Breast Cancer and allied treatments and consultancy centre to needy ,with latest Medical facilities for which ,a place has been identified . The incidence of breast cancer in India is on the rise and is rapidly becoming the number one cancer in females pushing the cervical cancer to the second spot. The seriousness of the situation is apparent after going through recent data from Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). An extensive survey, conducted with the help of professional team, in the locality of Pune, to understand the medical requirements and the results stress upon setting up a modern, but Charitable Medical facility, in spite of various Hospitals being present ! Help will be taken of The Rotary Foundation Global Grant Schemes and overseas Rotary clubs and districts and donations from public for this worthy cause. The Rotary Club of Poona Mid Town Educational and Charitable Trust duly registered with Charity commissioner will be nodal body to receive donations and to carry out this and other service projects.
